Jutta Rakoniewski Soft Abstraction

CV/Bio
I was born in Winterberg, Germany 1945 where I completed my studies in mechanical engineering and architectual design. 1986 I immigrated to Montreal Canada. The passion to paint never left me since my early childhood. After finishing my degree as Interior Designer Canada, art school of Concordia University further intensified my understanding and deepened the meaning of Art. I opened my own business in January 1975 which included product design and manufacturing of fine modern steel and wood furniture. In 1990 I studied computer design at Concordia University for my Associated MBA. The artistic and esthetic designs of the products assured a succsessful component in the market. Expositions in New York Dusseldorf, Toronto and San Francisco opened the doors Internationally. Constant travel throughout the world strongly evolved into a style of my own, which I call "SOFT ABSTRACTION". Most of my paintings take on a dreamlike formation, sometimes strong imigages emerge resembling sky, mountains, water or symbolic figures. Now retired living partly in Canada, Germany or Florida on the Ocean or on a Yacht, I finally can fulfill my lifelong dream to paint. I work best when I am outdoors, the colours become more vibrant, the brushes seem to glide faster without hesitation. It is this liberating freedom, to experience the many nuances which each layer of color and translucency breathes life in to the paintings I enjoy most. I use oils, acrylic and natural fibers as medium on canvas hardboard or paper. Last October 2002 I had a vernissage at the Hotel Koenigshof in Bonn Germany. Sponsered by Mr. Hans Eichholz and presented by Mr. Henning von Harling Art Consultant. We exhibited over 50 Paintings and we named it "Meditation". On the opeing day 19 paintings where sold.
